Work

A decade of building software, mostly the kind people use every day. I care about the seams — the data model underneath and the last 200ms of polish on top.

Currently senior software engineer at Northwind.

  1. Senior Software Engineer · Northwind

    2024 — Present Remote

Lead engineer on the core product surface, where I own the path from rough problem to shipped feature. I spend equal time in the data model and in the 200ms of interaction polish that decides whether people trust the thing.

    • Rebuilt the editor around an event-sourced core, cutting save latency from ~600ms to instant with optimistic local writes.
    • Set the team's accessibility and performance bar — every surface now ships AA-contrast and under a 100ms interaction budget.
    • Mentor two engineers; introduced the design-token system the whole frontend now builds on.

  2. Software Engineer · Atlas Maps

    2021 — 2024 Bengaluru, IN

Worked across the rendering and sync stack of an offline-first mapping client. This is where I fell for local-first architecture — and learned how much of "fast" is really just not waiting on the network.

    • Wrote the vector-tile render loop that held 60fps on mid-range Android devices.
    • Designed the conflict-resolution layer that let field teams edit the same map offline without losing work.
    • Shipped the WASM bridge that moved heavy geometry work off the main thread.

  3. Founding Engineer · Quiethours (acquired)

    2019 — 2021 Remote

Employee number two at a small focus-app startup. I built most of the client, talked to users every week, and learned that a sharp constraint is worth more than a long feature list. We were acquired in 2021.

    • Built the iOS and web clients from zero to ~40k monthly users.
    • Owned the single-screen, no-settings product design that became the app's identity.
    • Set up the CI, release, and crash-reporting pipeline the team ran on.
